Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Prajapati is working as Assistant Professor in Dept. of Hydro and Renewable Energy (HRED), IIT Roorkee. Before joining IIT Roorkee, he served as Assistant Professor in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna (India) during May 2017 to June 2019 and as Assistant Professor in Biotechnology at NSIT Delhi during August 2014 to May 2017.

Dr. Prajapati did his B.E in Biochemical Engineering from Kumaon Engineering College (now BTKIT), Uttarakhand in 2008. After obtaining M. Tech in Biotechnology from Anna University, Chennai in 2010, he pursued  PhD in “Environmental Biotechnology and Bioenergy” from IIT Delhi (2015). During PhD, he worked towards exploring and integrating algal biomethane production with wastewater treatment. His research was published in several international journals of high repute including Biotechnology Advances, Green Chemistry, Applied energy, Algal Research and Bioresource Technology etc. For his outstanding research contribution, he was awarded with prestigious "Distinction in Doctoral Research Award" from IIT Delhi.
